Derbyshire Freemasons have been out in good numbers to commemorate Armistice Day. A ceremony at the Grange in Derby on the 1st of November saw the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master laying a wreath at the memorial in the gardens of the Grange at Derby accompanied by the Lord Mayor. The Air Training Corps were present and paraded to the memorial smartly. The atmosphere was respectful and silent when the Bugler sounded the Last Post.

Unity Lodge held their ceremony on the 8th November at the Midland Road Railway memorial.

On Sunday 10th, our members were out in force in their local communities in their collars and placed 27 wreaths at eleven memorials throughout the Province.

The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master for Derbyshire, Arthur Steven Varley said:

” I am so very proud that our members have taken time to remember those who fell in all conflicts across the globe and who’s ultimate sacrifice has given us all the freedom we enjoy today ”
