W Bro Ian Hunt ( PPJGW ) Past Master of Arboretum Lodge No. 731, the Lodge he joined in 1959 was delighted to receive his 60th certificate at the meeting of the Lodge on Wednesday 12th June 2019. The meeting was well attended with 46 members and visitors to see Very Worshipful Bro Brian Evangelista present the certificate as well as the very rare 60th lapel badge which was preceded with a fascinating resume of Ian’s career as an engineer and of course his extensive service to Freemasonry.
Ian responded with a nostalgic retrospect of Arboretum Lodge and the characters who had helped shaped the Lodge in the past, many of whom are sadly no longer with us.
W Bro Hunt was clearly taken aback when his old friend of many years W Bro Wesley Osborne presented him with a beautiful hand-crafted eagle made from stainless steel and mounted on a wooden base. This was an emotional moment for W Bro Osborne as he complimented his old friend on his life’s work and achievements.
This was a fantastic evening in Freemasonry and one no doubt that Ian will never forget!
