Buxton Thursday Club visit Blaze Farm with members of High Peak Lodge
Buxton Thursday Club is a social club for adults with learning difficulties. They hold their meetings at Queens Court, Fairfield in Buxton.
The members of the club recently enjoyed a tour of Blaze Farm near Congleton, Cheshire to see the ponies, donkeys, sheep, goats, ducks and geese. This was followed by refreshments which included tea or coffee and a fine selection of homemade cakes. (The scones with jam and cream were apparently the favourites!).
During the visit W Bro Steve Cox, Charity Steward of High Peak Lodge No. 1952 presented a cheque on behalf of the Lodge for £400 to the club. The members of High Peak had raised £200 which was match funded by the Provincial Grand Charity. The donation will go towards the cost of transport and other costs for any of the visits the club make during the year.
Pictured with the cheque are some of the members of the Thursday Club.
