The Provincial Grand Master, R W Bro Arthur Steven Varley was pleased to present W Bro George Lloyd of Spencer Lodge 8773 with the provincial rank of Past Provincial Grand Standard Bearer today at Aspen Court Care Home, where W Bro Lloyd now resides. The presentation had been brought forward at the request of the Spencer Lodge Almoner, W Bro David Merriman due to W Bro Lloyd’s current health situation.
The presentation was attended by a small number of brethren from Spencer Lodge, and the chef at Aspen Court had made a special cake for W Bro Lloyd to mark this special occasion. W Bro Merriman also presented W Bro Lloyd’s wife, Carol, with flowers from the brethren.
W Bro Lloyd was very moved by the presentation and thanked the brethren. He also apologised to W Bro Paul Mansfield for “jumping in” and taking the provincial honours before him, which W Bro Mansfield had absolutely no problem with.
The brethren then enjoyed light refreshments including a slice of the masonic cake with W Bro Lloyd and Mrs Lloyd.
