The competition for the Derbyshire Masonic Bowls Trophy was played on Friday 8th September on the superb MBC green.
The Association Secretary, W.Bro Chris Bowler, put in a great deal of effort organising the event, which, for a variety of reasons, was poorly attended. Those who were fortunate enough to take part enjoyed a delightful late summer afternoon playing on one of the finest greens in the region.
W.Bro Mike Lake won all his matches to win the trophy with W.Bro Chris Bowler runner up. W. Bro John Culpin claimed the third place.
After the match the players paid their respects to absent brethren, remembering especially W.Bro Tom Allford , who was the last winner of the competition in 2018. The players then enjoyed a very welcome meal provided by Eleanor Lake, who somehow made a small profit on the meal which she donated to the Provincial Festival.
Hopefully we can enthuse more of our Derbyshire brethren to take part next year.
