The children at Pilsley CE Primary School were delighted to receive a £250 donation from the Dorothy Vernon Lodge of Masons in Bakewell to help enhance their school garden project.

The children are busy planning and preparing a sensory area for their school garden and this donation will really help them work towards this.

“We have our own gardening club who meet each week to weed, plant and harvest produce from the garden and it’s a wonderful opportunity for the children to get their hands dirty whilst learning lots about horticulture and nature at the same time!” says Head Teacher Mrs Emma Bond.

Mr Tim Stanish, the Charity Steward of Dorothy Vernon Lodge, said:

“We are delighted to support Pilsley CE Primary School’s garden project as it fits our focus on local charities and good causes helping with the development and enablement of the youth in our area.”
