The lodge formed over 150 years ago in Ripley. For many years, members were drawn from the local Butterley Ironworks Company. Notably, many would have worked on the structure of St Pancras station. In more recent years, people from further afield and more diverse backgrounds and occupations have joined us.
What we do
We meet as the closest of friends with a self-discipline which leads us to learn ritual and take part in a traditionally-styled meeting. It is a personal challenge but greatly rewarding. We then go for dinner and a drink to relax, have some fun and enjoy each other’s company.
Why join us?
We are a social organisation where people make lifelong friends, at the same time a real difference to the lives of others through local and national charitable donations. Meetings are enjoyable events, combining the use of ritual that members have learned, the fun of meal, and good humour to relax.
